Western India Mumbai & Aurangabad Tour 04 Nights / 05 Days
Day 1 : Arrive in Mumbai
Upon arrival at the international airport, you will be warmly welcomed by our representative and transferred to your hotel, where your room will be ready for immediate occupancy. The rest of the day is free for rest and leisure, allowing you to recover from your journey. Dinner will be provided, and you will stay overnight at the hotel.
Day 2 : Explore Mumbai (B/L/D)
After breakfast, embark on an exciting sightseeing tour of Mumbai. Start with a visit to the iconic Gateway of India, followed by a motorboat cruise to the Elephanta Caves. Ascend the 100 steps to the top of the hill to explore these ancient caves, adorned with large pillars and nine stunningly sculptured panels, including the famous Trimurthi. Return to the Gateway of India for lunch, then continue your tour with visits to the Prince of Wales Museum, Parliament House, Marine Drive, and a Jain Temple. Return to the hotel for an overnight stay.
(Note: If the Elephanta Caves tour is canceled due to high tides, a tour of the Kanheri Caves will be arranged. Both Elephanta Caves and the Prince of Wales Museum are closed on Mondays.)
Day 3 : Mumbai to Aurangabad (By Flight) (B/L/D)
After breakfast, check out of the hotel and transfer to the airport for your flight to Aurangabad. Upon arrival, transfer to the hotel. In the afternoon, take a half-day sightseeing tour of Aurangabad, visiting the Daulatabad Fort, Bibi Ka Maqbara (the mini-Taj of the Deccan), and Panchakki. Return to the hotel for an overnight stay.
Day 4 : Aurangabad – Ellora (30 Kms – 1/2 hour) (B/L/D)
After breakfast, head to Ellora to explore one of India’s UNESCO World Heritage Sites. The complex features 34 monasteries and temples, dating from 600 to 1000 AD, dedicated to Brahmanism, Jainism, and Buddhism. Marvel at the exquisite stonework that illustrates legends about Lord Shiva. Return to Aurangabad for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 5 : Aurangabad – Ajanta (105 kms – 2 hours) – Delhi (By Flight) (B/L)
After breakfast, take an excursion to the Ajanta Caves, another UNESCO World Heritage Site. These caves, dating from 200 BC to 650 AD, are carved into the rocky sides of a crescent-shaped gorge and feature magnificent murals narrating the story of Buddha’s incarnations. Return to Aurangabad to check out and transfer to the airport for your flight to Delhi, where you will connect to your international flight for your onward journey. The tour concludes with happy memories.
(Note: The Ajanta Caves are closed on Mondays, and the Ellora Caves are closed on Tuesdays.)
